My practice is 100% virtual, which enables me to work with clients that are anywhere in the state of Michigan. We can each stay in our comfortable, private environments for sessions. All sessions will be virtual, as I have no in-person office.

Once you complete the initial paperwork, I will send you a link for a secure app/website called Spruce. This provides us to use a HIPAA secure video for sessions (as well as secure texting). At the time of our session, you will just need to be in a private space with good Wi-Fi, and I will video call you through the Spruce app. At the end of the session, you’ll receive a “Payment Request” in the app, which will allow you to pay with a credit card.

I was surprised to discover that I can absolutely feel connected to my clients (compassionately and even energetically) while working virtually, so all sessions are virtual. It is a bonus that we can each also have our favorite blanket or our pet with us, and we don’t have to worry about a commute!

Your investment in yourself is $150 per 60 minute session, and can be paid via credit card or HSA card at the end of each session.
You can also consider seeing if you have insurance benefits that cover out-of-network providers, which may entitle you to partial reimbursement of your fee. -
I believe therapy works best when you—not an insurance company—have the freedom to make decisions about your care. As a private-pay practice, we're able to focus on what is most helpful for you rather than what an insurance company will approve.
Here are some of the benefits:
• More privacy and confidentiality.
Insurance companies often require a mental health diagnosis in order to reimburse for therapy, and they may review your records as part of audits or claim reviews. Choosing private pay gives you more control over who has access to your personal information.• No diagnosis unless it's clinically appropriate.
Many people seek therapy because they're navigating stress, relationship challenges, grief, burnout, or simply want to understand themselves better. Those experiences don't always meet the criteria for a mental health diagnosis—and I don't believe personal growth should require one. Some clients also prefer not to have a mental health diagnosis included in their insurance record. Choosing private pay gives you that option.• Therapy tailored to you—not your insurance company.
Together, we'll decide how often we meet, how long sessions should be, and what our work looks like. Those decisions are based on your needs, goals, and progress—not on an insurance company's policies or limits. If you have out-of-network benefits, I'm happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

We will meet via video inside the Spruce app. Our first session will focus on getting to know each other. I like to think of our conversation as “laying out the pieces of a puzzle together, and starting to see how things fit together”. We’ll get an idea of areas you would like to grow, and the steps I am envisioning to get there. As a bonus, you’ll probably hear my dog snoring, since she is always with me when I work!

This will be up to you. Some people have one specific issue that they are ready to tackle, and others recognize lifelong patterns that need to be time to be repaired and healed. It also depends on how consistently you implement things we discover in session, so the more you work at things, the quicker you reach a stopping point! But for those that are looking for a ballpark, I would say it varies from 6 months to over a year.
Hopefully you found the answers you were looking for.
If not, that's okay. Every person's story is different, and sometimes the best way to know whether therapy is the right fit is simply to have a conversation. A complimentary consultation gives us a chance to answer your questions, get to know each other, and decide whether moving forward together feels right.
